Sandra Breitengross Bitter is the Executive Director of the Texas State Independent Living Council. Before joining the Texas SILC in October 2012, she was a Legislative Director and Senior Policy Advisor for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. As a legislative staffer on Capitol Hill for over eight years, she specialized in transportation and infrastructure policy. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from California Baptist University.
