Joel Vazquez brings more than 18 years of experience with the City of Laredo. He’s the Assistant Director for the Laredo Convention & Visitors Bureau where he oversees the leisure, group, meetings & sports sales and overall CVB’s operations. He also oversees all the Port Laredo outreach/promotion together with Airport and Bridge Department. He first started working with the City of Laredo as an intern back in 2001 all while attending United South High School. In 2007, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Texas A&M International University. Joel also serves as a board member with Border Olympics and MPI Texas Hill Country Chapter. In his spare time, he volunteers at his church, Templo Vida Nueva. He has been happily married for six years and has a baby girl that is now three-year-old. He likes to spend time with family and friends and also enjoys hunting, fishing, and bike riding. This year he was appointed as the English Pastor.
