Darren Temple’s Bio:
Darren Temple is a 28 year industry veteran in the meetings, events and tradeshow industry with expertise in association management, destination marketing, face-to-face marketing, experiential and event technologies.
Darren spent 19 years (1990-2009) with FREEMAN in various roles ranging from SVP Sales of Freeman AV to his last two roles as SVP of Sales Administration and Branch Sales for FREEMAN (enterprise) in Dallas, Texas.
Following Freeman, Darren was Executive Vice President-Global Sales for PSAV Presentation Services in Coppell, Texas where he created and led the Global Sales Organization from 2009 to 2011.
Following PSAV, Temple was Chief Sales Officer for the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau where he lead the overall sales strategy and client services for the organization from 2011 – 2014.
Currently, Temple is the Chief Business Development Officer for Meeting Professionals International (MPI). In this role, Temple will lead strategic business development and global sales planning for the association. MPI is the largest and most vibrant global meeting and event industry association in the world.
Over the last 15 years as an executive sales leader in the industry, he has served in many diverse functions that have allowed him to gain unique perspective and experience ranging from multi-channel sales management, merger/acquisitions, sales organization design and deployment to ERP/CRM development and implementations. As well, he is considered a thought leader in the industry and specializes in growth strategies, sales effectiveness and business development.
Over his professional career he has been an active participant in PCMA, MPI, ASAE, DMAI and SAMA to name a few. Currently he serves on the MPI International Board of Directors for 2012/2013 term.
He and his family are active members at Fellowship Church (Grapevine) and deeply engaged in the local Coppell community, sports, dance and school related programs and volunteerism.
